David Watson, Executive Director

David Watson is responsible for all administrative and program activities of the Design Center. Starting in 1975, he became associated with electrical design and construction in the around Knoxville and throughout East Tennessee as an associate with the electrical engineering firm Vreeland Associates and founding partner of Engineering Services Group PC.

Currently David is a Committee chair and member of the Central Business Improvement District Downtown Development Committee, Knox County greens committee, County Mayor Neighborhood Conference Co-sponsor, East Tennessee ReLeaf Program committee chair. He is a graduate of Leadership Knoxville 2006, the East Tennessee Regional Leadership graduate class of 2008, Treasurer for the Construction Specifications Institute Knoxville Chapter, and is a Certified Charrette Planner by the National Charrette Institute. David has been with the East Tennessee Community Design Center since 2001.


Jan Mosadegh, Assistant to the Director

Jan Mosadegh is the Administrative Assistant for the Executive Director, and, along with financial accounting responsibilities assists the Director in an administrative capacity. Jan focuses on the daily business activities including AR, AP and payroll. Her duties also include management of the Regional Leadership Program for East Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 1984 with a degree in Marketing, Jan was the Communications Coordinator for the Tennessee Valley Fair for many years before becoming the Marketing Director for United Way of Blount County. Jan has been with the East Tennessee Community Design Center since August, 1998.


Pat Donaldson, Administrative Assistant

Pat Donaldson serves the Community Design Center as an administrative assistant and is the Component Executive for the American Institute of Architects, East Tennessee Chapter (AIAETN). Along with all administrative and financial accounting responsibilities for the AIAETN Pat assists Jan in an administrative capacity for the Design Center. Pat has been with the Center since 2006.


Kathy Proctor, Development Director

Kathy Proctor serves the Community Design Center as the corporate Development Director providing fund raising and public awareness enhancements. Ms Proctor brings a wealth of experience from the design and construction profession to the position in addition to her development experience. She received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Tennessee and has been a licensed architect since 1983.



DesignWorks Program Staff

As DesignWorks Program staff, Perry and Leslie work directly with client groups, student intern production staff, and volunteer professionals on direct technical assistance projects. DesignWorks program staff is hands on in assisting community organizations and individuals to undertake projects of historic preservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse as well as other neighborhood planning, organizing and revitalization efforts.

Leslie Fawaz,
Studio Director

Ms. Fawaz is a graduate from the University of Tennessee College of Architecture & Design and has been employed at the Design Center since October 2008.

Perry Childress,
DesignWorks Program Staff

Mr. Childress is a graduate from the University of Tennessee College of Architecture & Design and has been employed with the Design Center for almost 30 years.
